using Nature & Animal Spirit Photography
Our stunning deck of Ancient Wisdom Oracle Cards.
Animals and nature spirits take any form possible to get our attention. They maybe guardian animal spirits who walk with you in life, or simply have a message from spirit for you to assist with the next steps of your journey. Either way they represent a connection with Spirit that cannot be ignored. If you would like more information on the power of Animal and Nature Spirits, we suggest you visit Scott Alexander-King's Animal Dreaming website where you will find workshop details, reference materials and descriptions.
Over the coming months, we will build a gallery of these images. However, for now, here are some personal favourites.
Rhinoceros My sacred space at Charlotte Pass is fast becoming a home for many "non-Australian" animal spirits, including this amazing Rhinoceros. He smiles knowingly and asks that we remember the Ancient Wisdom we each carry within. Honour the memory of our ancestors, and ask for their guidance when we feel confused. Life doesn't have to be difficult, if we open our ears and listen to the messages from our ancestoral guides. This photograph was one of many taken on the 8th August, 2008. |

Merlin - the Master Alchemist this beautiful image appeared whilst i was photographing the Strelitzia Flowers who chose to become the Alchemy Vibrational Essence. Merlin clearly stands in the centre of this flower, arms outstretched to show us we need only reach out and create the life and future we choose. We are each Earth Alchemists and Merlin's message is to let go of those fears of not feeling "good enough". He teaches us to "step up to the plate, and weave our majic, for when we do, we help create a beautiful web of joy, compassion, integrity, grace, healing, love and light upon the earth.

Snow Whales It wasn't until this landscape was being edited on my computer that I first noticed the presence of the Mother and Calf Whale. There was a personal irony attached to this photograph, as I gave up an opportunity to go on a whale watching cruise that weekend, so I could spend time in my favourite part of my beloved snowy mountains. Needless to say when i shared the photos with those who attended the whale watching tour, they laughed as they didn't see one whale all weekend.

The Billabong Under the shade of this twisted, gnarled snowgum I found a billabong in a branch. The intent was to photograph the reflections of the sky in the water, however Spirit had other ideas. When this picture was being edited a baby crocodile head stared at me from the water on the left side of the billabong. as did a sulphur crested cockatoo on the right. As I zoomed back out, the branch containing the billabong also transformed, becoming the body of a "mother crocodile" - carryng the billabong and its occupants on her back. This photo was taken in a sacred place to me, and became even more special when I learnt that we had lost our own wildlife warrior, Steve Irwin only a few days later. And so I dedicate this photo to Steve's memory, and to his family to continuing his legacy. . |

Cockatoo When I returned to the Billabong last winter it was no longer there. Like all things in nature, everything has it's season and somewhere between spring and my return the following winter, the branch had separated from the tree. In it's place is a sentinnel - a single cockatoo now perched on the edge of the old branch who keeps watch over this sacred space. This cockatoo reminds us that as life constantly moves forward, we also move forward and as our personal "seasons" change, the happy and treasured memories of the past are just a smile and thought away.

Smile Photographed on the Spring Equinox, 2007 in my garden, this busy little bee climbed a lavender flower in a spiral until he reached the top. His smile says it all - that the view from the top is definately worth the climb. This bee's message is about living our lives in absolute gratitude. For when we climb our "personal Everest" , with gratitude in our heart for all that occurs along the way, Spirit will provide the nourishment and nectar to keep us energised until we reach our destination. |

The Reindeer The last place I expected to find a Reindeers Spirit was in a rock pool near Long Reef. This incredible spirit called to me as a reminder we each have animals who represent "Helping Spirits" as we travel our shamanic journey Upon returning home, I researched the metaphysical properties of Reindeer, and laughed as it was just the message i needed this week. Reindeer teaches us endurance, strength, fortitutde and perseverance ingoing the distance. He's a wonderful allie during times fo advsersity as he helps us to accomplish tasks. He reminds us that in order to move forward successfully we must do so from a place of inner peace. The colours of this particular reindeer spirit are wonderful, his earthy browns and reds, ground the energy, whilst still connecting to the stars and universal spirit with his beautiful "rainbow antlers. |

Eagle Rock Seems 3rd August 2008 was just "ONE OF THOSE DAYS" for animal spirits to appear. Aside from the abundance of native fauna (including whales cruising up the coast), Spirit sent another messenger to me as I walked along Collaroy Beach. This rock at first showed me a picure of mountains with an "eye" high above, as it asked could it accompany me to my sacred place in the snow on 8/8/08. Now that the stone has dried off its true image is now revealed... the head of an Eagle. I'll update the information from this Wise Ancient Guardian once I've had chance to work with her energy next weekend. |
